Ultra-quiet Rotor/Propeller Design, Fabrication, and Testing

Based on your mission and aircraft requirements, we can design the most aerodynamically efficient rotors, propellers, or proprotors for the best performance in hover, edgewise, and axial flight and that will generate the lowest possible noise signature. The rotors could have fixed or variable-pitch blades with cyclic and collective control. We could also build the rotors and test them in hover and edgewise flight in wind or water tunnels, as well as in an anechoic chamber to verify aerodynamic and acoustic performance.

Vehicle Design

Do you have an idea for a new concept? Tell us about it, and we can perform a conceptual design as well as detailed design which includes structural design, propulsion system, performance calculations, component sizing, and weight and payload fraction estimates. For the most accurate performance estimates, we can perform high-fidelity CFD simulations and aeroelastic performance predictions.

Structural Analysis, Fabrication, and Testing

Many applications require a weight-conscience design. We can design mass-optimal structures out of both isotropic as well as anisotropic composite materials. Our analysis would include stress, deflection, and structural dynamics analysis using high-fidelity analysis tools such as ABACUS. We can fabricate the structure or individual components of it and conduct both static and dynamic testing. Strains, deflections, mode shapes, and frequencies would be measured during testing to create a complete picture of the predicted behavior.

Vehicle Prototyping and Testing

We can bring your invention to life by designing, building, and testing both subscale and full-scale prototypes of your idea. We would build and test the vehicle prototype, and, once the mechanical and electrical systems are proven, develop and implement both traditional and machine learning-based control laws and guidance algorithms. These techniques will enhance the stability of the vehicle in disturbance-prone environments and during autonomous navigation.

Test Rig Design and Fabrication

Maybe you already have an advanced rotor or propeller design and would like to do your own in-house testing. We can design and build fully-instrumented experimental test rigs to our customer’s requirements for testing and fully characterizing rotors or propellers. Our test rigs enable testing rotors and propellers in hovering flight, in forward flight in a wind or water-tunnel, and in both hovering and forward flight in an anechoic wind tunnel for capturing accurate noise measurements.

Harmony Aeronautics is a Texas-based engineering service start-up with a team of engineers and scientists who are passionate about developing advanced aircraft concepts and rotor and propeller technology. The team brings a combined 50+ years of experience in engineering research, analysis, simulation, and rotorcraft and aircraft prototype development and flight-testing. We believe that innovative ideas and technologies are key to the advancement of tomorrow’s mobility solutions.

Harmony Aeronautics is a Texas based, early-stage startup which seeks to commercialize dual-use quiet propulsion technology developed at Texas A&M University. Its founders are award-winning acoustic, mechanical, and electrical engineers with experience from NASA, Boeing, and Army Research Laboratory. The group founded Harmony Aeronautics in 2018 with a singular mission and vision to be a global leader in ultra-quiet propulsion design.
